About

Kimari (Ari Kim) is an artist who works

between figuration and abstraction.

She is currently based in Seoul, South Korea.

 

Most of her past works were filled with

strong emotions and vivid colors.

Using color and expressive forms helped

her feel alive and fill the emptiness

she often felt inside.

But over time, these emotions started to

overflow, and she began to look for

more space.

Now, instead of directly expressing

emotion, she chooses to step back and

observe from a distance.

Her recent works include more structure

and are less impulsive.

They still look rough and unfinished,

but they reflect the real shape of life.

Imperfect, fragile, but always continuing.

키마리(김아리)는 구상과 추상의 경계에 있는

작가이다. 한국 서울에 살고 있다.

감정과 색채를 빈틈없이 가득채우던 기존의

표현 방식은 시간이 지나며 계속 변화하는

중이다.

​전보다는 감정을 더 구조화한 형태로

거리를 두고 그것에 대한 감정이 일어나기

전, 중간, 그 후에 남겨진 것들을 쫓으려 한다.​

어느정도 즉흥적인 특유의 거칠고 불완전한,

미완성의 형태를 띄어 위태로워 보이지만

그렇기때문에 계속 이어지는

자연스런 생의 모습들을 다룰 것이다.
